The 5th floor Chapter 5

The night was going pretty smooth and nothing unusual happened. But then that girl from earlier snuck up from behind me a grabbed me by the shoulders.

"Y-Yahhh!"

I jumped a little and turned around. She looked sad and lost. (again)

"What are you doing here at this hour?! And how did you find me?!"

"I stuck a tracking device on you when you weren't looking, and fallowed it to you."

(She's stalking me now?? Oh my god, what is wrong with this girl, I don't want to be stalked, who knows how long she was watching me for! Okay, I get it you like me, chick, but you don't have to stalk me, it's so old fashion, why not just use the computer to do that?)

"Look, I don't know what you want, but I can't give it to you! So please go away!"

"Go away.....? Go away?"

"Yes! Get out! Shoo!"

"I'm standing on free country Haru. So watch it, your not the boss of me, I do what I want."

"Well I'm getting back to work then! Stand there for all I care!"

"Maybe I will!"

"Maybe you shou-"

I stopped at the (almost)  end to my sentence and listened carefully, I was getting that feeling again .Of a ghost like presence, It had to be Alice! I couldn't just stand here with this stupid Otaku chick, she's insane.

Zera pulled out twin pistols and loaded them.

"Why do you have guns of you?!"

( Yep, I made up my mind, this girl was officially insane! ) I took a step back against a wall and stared down at them. )

"W-What are you going to do with those?..."

"Hold still, It's just beside you."

She let off her two guns, right beside me, and into the wall, making large holes.

"What are you doing?!"

"Don't worry, I wasn't going to hit you, I was hitting this thing."

She stooped down to the floor and grabbed something in her hands that looked like clear hair. Then Alice was in the girl arms, she looked sick and beaten.

"A-Alice!"

"Hm, seems you know this girl, don't you?.."

"Yes I met her a few days ago! Has she been fallowing me around all day?"

"That's right, she seems to like you."

Zera touched the side of Alice's face as she had no color to her skin.

"Sleep well, little one."

( What!? ) I ran over to her and snatched Alice from her arms and I was really pissed off at her.


"What the hell did you do to her?!"

"...I thought she was a bad spirit. It was a simple mistake!"

"Bad spirit? What do you mean "Bad spirit"?!"

"Listen! I'm very sorry! But I think she's..."

"N-No! Shut up! I'll do something! Watch!"

I looked down at Alice's pale face and saw the bullet wounds in her arm and leg. I placed a soft kiss against her forehead and laid her slowly on the ground.

"I'm sorry, I'll kill her for doing this to you.."

I stood up and was able to grab one of the guns from her.

"You are too irresponsible for two! Now up against the wall before I blow your brains out!"

"It's alright, I'm not afraid of dying by the hands of you...But...By her.."

Alice reappeared with a knife around Zera's neck and pulled her farther back from me so I'd lose my aim. Alice looked upset, well, I would be to if some random chick just tried to kill me for no apparent reason. Alice rubbed the blade against her neck, slowly digging deeper into the skin.

"Don't lay a hand on Haru if you want to see the sunlight again..." Alice said in a dark, but serious tone.

"I wasn't going to hurt your friend, okay!?"

"Good, because I could put you in your place..."

She put away the knife and settled her feet down to the floor.

"Haru-kun.."

She ran towards me and I swooped her up into my arms. She gave a sweet laugh and kissed my cheek.

"It's okay, that girl doesn't mean any harm, she's just a ghost hunter."

Zera took a deep breath and snatched her gun back from me.

"Idiot! As if you know how to even use a gun!"

( She's right, I really don't, but when it's a life or death option. I would have shot her either way.) "You're right, to tell you the truth, I try to distance myself from things like that. They are dangerous."

Zera smirked and slid her twin pistols back in their holsters and walked closer towards Alice and I.

"Is that so? What a shame, there might be a time when you really will need to defend yourself."

Zera gave me a sharp stare as I met her gaze, it was almost like daggers were deep inside her eyes, because I was terrified, then she spoke.

"People like you, Die easily."

I gasped, then she suddenly grabbed my wrist and began to twist it. tears started to form in my eyes as it felt like she was trying to rip my hand off.

"Z-Zera..T-That.." I said to her, withstanding the pain like any manly man would.

"Think fast Yuri!" She smirked and flipped me on my back,turned my body down to the ground, as she grabbed both of my wrists. She then handcuffed me and I started to panic.

"Haru Yurima you are under arrest for making a contract with a demon, and refusing her execution."

She spoke so clearly, it make me shiver at her tone and I started to squirm.

"What the hell are you talking about!? I never made any contract with her! And who are you calling a demon you worthless slut!?"

I grinned my teeth as my chin was pressed into the carpet, making it hard for me to speak clearly.
She laughed and slowly stood me up on my feet, not letting me go for even a second.

"Do I have to make myself even more clear? Very well. Alice Rose is an Immortal human being, she has been dead for 16 years. But sometimes there are spirits who can't accept death, because they feel they still had a purpose before dying, Alice is one of those spirits, she was supposed to go to the Abyss long ago, but she refused to know her place, so instead of leaving this world, she seeks a vessel to posses so she can prolong her life on earth, while feeding off a human soul, the soul she had chosen was you, so now, I must execute her and have you drained of her remika. We might still be able to save you, I only want to save you, Yuri. Please try and understand that, We have lost many people from this remikanite that infected their bodies."

"...What is Remikanite?" I asked her.

"It's basically helps the demon feed off your soul, a part of her is inside of you, feeding off of you, like a appetizer,  once she is done using your body, she will just find another one. Leaving your corpse to rot! It also allows her to control half of your body in some cases, she can possess you in time...Well, that is all that my coworkers have computed anyways."

I didn't know what to say back to her, (If this is all true, then doesn't that mean I will die?)

"What if you didn't catch the problem when it was smaller? How long would I have?..."

"5 days.. But don't worry, I'm here to help you."

I kept silent as she walked me out of the building and stuck me in the front seat of a red truck.
She got in on the other side and slammed the door, she looked scared, she looked uneasy. She started up her truck and was driving us to somewhere, when unsuspectingly, Alice was standing right in the middle of the street.

"Alice! Move! You'll get run over!!"

"You idiot.. she's already dead, it's not like you can feel anything once your dead. Can't you see it's a trick?"

"ALICE MOVE!"

She didn't move and Zera took no hesitation to run her over, there was a loud cracking sound, I was ready to lose it.

"You ass! What the hell are you doing!?"

I tried to grab the wheel from her for a few seconds to turn around, but she tried to take it back, at the same time, trying to pry my fingers away from it. We started spinning in circles as we screamed our full heads off, then the truck tipped over and I jumped out, running quickly to Alice.

"Alice!"

She ran faster than me and I was tripped by her in the process of running slowly towards Alice, I went face first into the floor and struggled.

"Argh! Get your ha-..!!"

I saw Zera have her arms around Alice's neck, even if this girl was dead, I didn't want her to suffer, she didn't deserve any of this.

"Zera! Get your hands off of her!!" I yelled.

"Hehe, Oh Yuri, this is what happens when you don't listen to the government. Someone always dies."

She began to twist Alice's neck and I was getting even more pissed off.

"But you said she was already dead!!"

"No, you are keeping her alive, as of now, she has a human body, she's not invisible."

Now I knew I had to save her, I still had questions to ask that little brat, and I was starting to have a bond with her, I couldn't let it start out like this.

"Let her go dammit!!!"

I broke the chains of the huffs and screamed, she started to give me her sharp stare once again, it was almost like she was hypnotizing me! She said think fast? Oh, I'll think fast all right!

I pushed her down and punched her a few times in the face. She yelped in pain and she had very little grip on Alice now, I snatched her back and took the knife out of Alice's waist ribbon. I put it up to her neck and glared.

"Listen you, I don't care what this little girl has done or did, If I forgot to complete something in my life after I died and the only way to stay on earth to finish my goal was; To invade a human being. I'd the same thing she's doing! I don't know my purpose for living yet, but I do know everyone has one, but my priority right now is to help Alice fulfill her purpose, then have her rest in peace forever!"

"You say such stupid things, It's not like you know this brat.. So what is the big deal? Why is she so special to you anyways?.."

"Why is she so special to me....Because...Because.."

"Yuri! You don't even know anything about her! She's a stranger to you! And you want to risk your life just to help her complete some stupid goal!? Listen to yourself! You're insane, you freak!"

"I will learn more about her, I haven't know her long, but I feel as if I knew her forever! So shut up! If I want to do this, it's my business, not yours!"

"It is my business! Because I work for-"

I started to press the blade deeper into her neck.

"ENOUGH!"

She smiled up at me.

"Look...Look what that girl is doing to you already, stressing you out. Do you really want to live your last days in strife?"

"I would, if it would make Alice happy."

Zera didn't go any further into the argument, she pushed the blade away and got up, walking away in complete silence, for a minute anyway.

"Listen, I'll give you a free will, this time, but if you die a horrible death, don't come crawling to me, saying I was right."

She left the two of us there, all alone, I picked Alice up and walked slowly back to the house.

"You must be tired, you can sleep in my room for tonight."

I smiled down at her as she moved up to kiss my cheek.

"Thank you...Hazu..."

"Stupid brat! It's Haru! You hear me!? HA-RU!"

"Hehe.."

She smiled back and fell fast asleep. I gave a deep sigh and kissed her forehead once more.

"You're hopeless.."
